Nominations opened for the Timber Creek Ward by-election on 17 July 2023 and closed at 12 noon on Thursday 27 July 2023.

One nomination was received for the role from Ms. Deborah Jones. Ms. Jones’s nomination was accepted and under regulation 71 of the Local Government (Electoral) Regulations.

The nomination was unopposed, and Ms. Jones was duly elected to the position of ordinary council member for the Victoria Daly Regional Council Timber Creek Ward on 27 July 2023.

Ms. Jones will attend her first meeting of ordinary council on Tuesday, 29 August at the Yarralin council office.

In addition to participating in council meetings, Ms. Jones will soon become a member of the three local authorities within the ward, these being:

• Bulla local authority
• Timber Creek local authority; and
• Amanbidji local authority.
