Victoria Daly Regional Council has accommodation facilities available in Kalkarindji and Yarralin only. Our accommodation facilities are located in remote areas and are required to accommodate a wide range of internal and external guests. Providing suitable accommodation for Council, Government, NGO’s and Contractors servicing VDRC to small communities is often a challenge in towns with acute housing shortages and minimal accommodation options. VDRC accommodation facilities does not follow the typical model and in many areas, widely differs from services being offered by standard accommodation providers.
Before you Travel:
Ensure that you have notified the Council Services Centre in the community you are travelling to of the time that you have departed from your current location and the estimated time when you are expected to arrive in the community.
Your travel and accommodation in the community may be cancelled at short notice due to Community Ceremonies, Sorry Days and any other Cultural Days that may be taking place.
Please remember that you will need to consider your duration of travel time to the communities based on the weather and road conditions, or any other factors that may delay your expected time of arrival.
If you are arriving in the community after 4:30pm you will need to arrange with the relevant Council Services Centre to pick up the accommodation keys after normal working hours. If a council staff member is unable to hold your accommodation key, your travel date will have to be changed to the following day.
VDRC Employees will have priority over visiting departments and organisations with regard to accommodation bookings and preferences of VDRC accommodation facilities. This policy ensures that VDRC can carry out our service delivery programs efficiently. Please be advised that if your booking is conflicting with a Council Employee/s accommodation needs, your booking may be cancelled or amended to another date. We will contact you before your travel date if any changes are required. Sometimes due to accommodation shortages, there maybe a need for you to share your accommodation on a cost share basis.You will be advised, if this situation should arise.

Accommodation Keys are to be collected at the Council Services Centre.
On arrival to any VDRC Community we ask that you attend the Council Services Centre to complete our visitors log book, this is a policy requirement in every community, for all individuals visiting community.

Each VOQ Includes: – x 2 Room Options:
– 2 King Single Beds, with linen, pillows & towels
– 1 Double Bed, with linen, pillows & towels
– Dining table & chairs, lounge chair & TV
– Microwave, Kettle, Toaster, Fridge & Freezer
– Basic cutlery & kitchen utensils
– Bathroom: Shower, Toilet, Washing Machine
There are two Units available: Unit 1 or Unit 2
Each Unit Includes: – x 2 King Single Beds, without linen or pillows
– Dining table & chair, TV
– Microwave, Kettle, Toaster, Bar Fridge
– Electric Stovetop
– Basic cutlery & kitchen utensils
There is a Shower & Toilet facility located outside

Cancellation and Administration Charges
Cancellation of Confirmed Accommodation is strictly 24hrs NOTICE
CHECK OUT TIME IS 10am – Failure to comply will incur an extra day’s accommodation costs.
No Key Deposit is required however, should the key/s not be returned on departure the company will be charged the re-placement costs for key/s.
Any item/s missing from VDRC accommodation facilities will be charged by credit card or invoice sent to your company.
Your company or organisation will be financially liable for any costs after departure that may be incurred due to excessive cleaning requirements, loss of inventory, damage to property, loss of keys etc.
Any amendments and changes to confirmed accommodation bookings and/or room hire must be organised and acknowledged by Katherine Regional Administration Staff ONLY.
All changes made after the booking confirmation date will be charged at $25 per change.
