International Women’s Day – Friday, 8 March 2024

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organisation specific.

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders “who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations” and “the contribution and suffering of all those who have served”.

Gold Rush Festival – 28 & 29 June 2024

The Pine Creek Gold Rush Festival is an annual event celebrating the history and heritage of Pine Creek. It is an opportunity to showcase their many historic buildings and demonstrate gold panning and damper making. Learn the history of the gold rush, try your luck at gold panning or damper competitions and explore the rich heritage of the region.

NAIDOC Week – Sunday, 7 – 14 July 2024

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
