About the Opportunity Joining the team in regional office Katherine NT, you will report directly to the Chief Operations Oficer bringing your skills and knowledge to manage, lead and support the contracts team on a day to day basis. This position is responsible for ensuring that Council maximises revenue opportunities from available funding, that all contract provisions are understood and adhered to within the Council, and financial acquittal is achieved. The role supervises a small team of contract managers, and works closely with the Council delivery arm, through the Council Service Managers, to facilitate the funding of delivery activities.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Diploma or equivalent experience in Contract Management, Accounting or related discipline and hold a valid Australian drivers licence.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Administer and supervise contract monitoring, contract administration and compliance.

Negotiate the renewal of contracts as necessary.

Coordinate the development and compliance of a contracts reporting schedule.

Keep accurate records of all contracts including progress updates and file notes.

Coordinate with finance staff to ensure the accuracy of funding provisions.

Develop and prepare regular reports on the status of contracts.

Determine the priorities, goals and objectives of work functions as per reporting schedule.

Source and negotiate new funding agreements and contracts.

Assist with the implementation and interpretation of related policies and procedures.

Manage the review of contract payment audits.

Play an active role in the development and ongoing maintenance of a computer database for the contract management system.

Provide direction to key stakeholders and staff regarding relevant contract provisions.

Any other duties as directed by the CEO or Manager.

About the Opportunity Joining the team in regional office Katherine NT, you will report directly to the CEO bringing your skills and knowledge to manage the CDP contract within the Councils region.

The CDP Regional Manager will actively manage the CDP programme and strategically plan and coordinate activities across a number of teams to delivering effective leadership in a cross-cultural environment with capacity and  understanding of Community Development principles and employ those principles in community with demonstrated expertise. Applying research skills and innovation to resolve complex and multi-faceted problems with capacity to understand issues affecting people in remote Indigenous communities.  

The CDP Regional Manager will  interpret and implement policies on legislative requirements into CDP operations to achieve KPIs and will work in accordance with Council’s Regional Plan and other relevant plans consulted with communities and local authorities to, oversee CDP Jobseeker activities which contribute to personal, professional and community development. 

Effectively managing the CDP programme will involve working closely and sensitively to provide compliant employment assistance, participation management, and related reporting and administrative functions. Including staff management, contract management, achievement of contract KPI’s, financial performance and oversight of the CDP quality assurance and compliance framework to achieve contractual and organisational objectives. Travel to remote indigenous communities is a requirement and a work vehicle will be provided for work purposes.

About You Council seeks a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills  with the relevant experience and qualifications needed to provide a positive and energetic input towards achieving the objectives and allowing you to effectively liaise with stakeholders from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

In addition, you'll have the capacity to drive change and motivate staff to achieve program outcomes and  possess the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and various organisational, community groups and government departments. To be successful, you will have a qualification in human services, employment services, community development, social work or community development and are able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of case management and its practice with clients with complex needs and who may be culturally and linguistically diverse.

You'll have a through understanding of funding agreements, contractual compliance, financial management, WHS knowledge and contemporary industrial relations matters, and a commitment to their application.

Position Title:  Property and Fleet Officer

Location: Katherine, NT

Position Type: Temporary, 6 month contact 

 Full Time, 38 hour working week

Salary Range: Level 6 Indicative $72,274 + 9.5% Super + remote area allowance

About the Opportunity Joining the team in regional office Katherine NT, you will report directly to the manager of infrastructure and civil works. This position involves the provision of support in the management of Council’s housing, property, minor assets, and vehicle, plant and equipment assets at all Communities within the Victoria Daly Regional Council area including Katherine. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing the existing asset data base, undertaking a detailed assessment of asset performance and condition and in conjunction with the Manager Infrastructure and Civil Works develop a long term management plan for effective and efficient management of assets. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to; 

1. In conjunction with the Infrastructure and Civil Works Manager undertake a detailed review of Council’s current asset data base and associated documentation and compile a comprehensive report including improvement recommendations 

2. Undertake detailed assessment of all assets to determine locality, genuine need, performance and condition of each individual asset and provide recommendations where efficiencies and effectiveness can be made.
3. Develop and maintain both a short and long term comprehensive asset maintenance and replacement schedules including cost estimates
4. Develop/upgrade and maintain Council’s asset register
5. Develop and maintain an effective cost control management system utilizing Council’s Technology One financial system
6. Coordinate Council’s relocation to another building in Katherine including new building refit and existing building exit requirements, discussions/arrangements with existing and future landlords, manage contractors and maintain cost control.
7. Maintain close and positive liaison with Council’s Community Services Managers regarding repairs and maintenance to assets at each Community
8. Undertake purchasing of goods and services within Council’s procurement policies and procedures

Recruitment Process

  1. Applications are assessed on merit by a selection panel and a short list is created to identify those applicants who warrant further consideration.
  2. At interview the selection panel will ask a series of questions in line with the selection criteria and specific duties of the position.

Referee Checks

References provided by you may be contacted during the selection process.  It’s a good idea to get permission from your references before nominating them.

If you are a current employee of the Council and you have been selected for an interview and one of the panel members directly supervises you it is a requirement for you to obtain a referee report from them prior to the interview process starting.

Criminal History Checks
