Victoria Daly Regional Council (VDRC) Mayor, Brian Pedwell today announced the departure of its Chief Executive Officer, effective 10 January 2025. Mr Hylands has been a key figure in the Council since his appointment in November 2022.

Mayor Pedwell expressed gratitude for Mr Hylands’ contributions, stating, “Brian’s leadership has been a cornerstone of our Council’s progress. His commitment to our community and his strategic vision has left a lasting impact.”

Mayor Pedwell also highlighted his deep appreciation for Mr Hylands’ strong and steady leadership during the devastating flooding events that plagued the Victoria Daly region during his tenure, noting his dedication during these challenging times was instrumental in supporting the Council and its communities.

The Council will commence a thorough recruitment process to find a successor. In the interim, Russell Anderson will assume the role of short-term CEO to ensure a smooth transition.

Mr Hylands expressed gratitude to the staff at Victoria Daly Regional Council, stating, “The staff at Victoria Daly Regional Council are doing a great job across all of our communities, and it has been a pleasure working with all of them.”
